Description

I got a name, and some words of direction; sad, barren, dead. A landscape that shows no life and it turend out like this.

Constructive critique is more than welcome.

The first thing i was most struck in this picture is this kind of wall/mountainside at the right. I learned not so long ago that in painting right side is future, evolution & change whereas left is immobility and continuity. So what i am wondering is: did you know this, and was this detail willingly added or was it kinda... i don't know "instinctive"? Or even involuntary, though finally being coherent with your idea of this picture?
And in some ways it looks like a wall to prevent prisoners (of any kind, would they be metaphorical or physical in this nightmarish world) to escape. Like if there was a great hope beyond this barrier.

The to building-like structures in the background remind me of some post-apocalyptic vision, but the landscape seems so shattered, annihilated! Like if the apocalypse was more than just nuclear or whatever, rather supernatural, with an idea of "powerful enough to shake the very foundations of the world". Biblical in some ways. I'd like to know if it was an aspect you wanted to let appear in your work?

As for the technique in itself, as Senza said good work with the smoke. And with the occulted sky too, merging with land far in the horizon. I really like this impression of a something uncertain and far, like a dream -well, a nightmare- no bold limits for objects, earth, trees and sky: everything is fade.

It's just impressions i'm not a critic i don't know much about art theory but this pic really struck me and made me wondering about what you wanted to show -if you wanted to show anything. And, well, if some of my sentences are not clear that's normal, i'm afraid my English is far from fluent :']
